The Festival

What is Eid ul‑Adha?

One of Islam's most sacred observances, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's supreme act of faith and devotion to Allah.

The Story

Eid ul-Adha — also known as Bakrid — commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his beloved son in complete obedience to Allah's command. At the decisive moment, Allah replaced the sacrifice with a ram, eternally rewarding Ibrahim's unwavering faith.

Muslims worldwide mark this day by performing Qurbani — a ritual sacrifice — and distributing meat among family, friends, and those in need. It is a time of spiritual renewal, gratitude, and communal solidarity.

"

It is not their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah — it is your piety that reaches Him.

Quran 22:37
